Top Three SEO Trends & Predictions For Digital Marketing in 2017
It’s a new year! With that brings new budgets, new products, and new ideas. 2017 will continue the trend of 2016 regarding the evolution of search engine optimization (SEO). At L2TMedia, we pay attention to the predicted top trends for SEO in order to ensure that our clients are at the forefront of digital marketing for the auto industry. While no one knows exactly what will happen in the SEO world, there are clues that provide insight into where search engine optimization is heading. Here are our predictions for 2017:
- Schema Markup and Structured Data
- Have you searched for an answer to your question and seen a result that provides an answer to your keyword or question? That is a result of schema markup. The idea is to provide rich content that answers what people are asking. In the SEO world, it is our job to use the mechanisms provided to us by tools like Google’s Search Console. We can highlight important information on the page that alerts Google that when it crawls a specific page that that information is what will be meaningful to the user reading it. They can then index it and provide it as top answers and search results.
- Optimize for mobile
- Google is steadily updating search results. In case you didn’t know, Google is experimenting with pulling results from a mobile index while their desktop index becomes the backup to provide answers that mobile cannot. Google also has their accelerated mobile pages (AMP) project that many sites have adopted. These are signals showing how serious Google is about the mobile future as more and more people worldwide are connected and searching from their smart devices.
- Capture voice
- With more personal assistants and voice search capabilities included on all of our devices, more people are using their voice to search. Google voice search, Siri, Alexa, Cortana – these are all names of personal assistants that are used daily with voice commands or queries. Optimizing your site and content to include voice search terms that people use will help your site to be relevant in the growing mobile world. Voice is also used on desktop, like Microsoft’s Cortana, so voice searches will cover a variety of sources with mobile being the primary.
Google is always tweaking their algorithm to provide the changes of the world and the markets. In order to provide results for clients, our SEO specialists read into what Google is doing and what the SEO industry is saying in order to implement the strategies necessary to achieve success. Beginning last year, our SEO specialists at L2TMedia began implementing voice search and schema markup with our clients and have been seeing positive results.
Here’s to a new year where the sky is not the limit, but rather just the first step!
